With less than 3 weeks left in 2016, you’ve probably already started to think about all the things you’re going to improve or do differently in 2017. You’ve probably already had a few conversations about the year you’ve had so far and what you plan on doing to make next year better.
This is the time of year that many people slow down, press on the brakes and wait. Many look at Jan 1st as the time to hit that reset button, a new opportunity to begin again but the truth is there’s no better way to start the New Year off with a bang than to get started right now, why wait??
Let’s be real – if you really want to get serious about becoming the best version of YOU, or taking your business to the next level, why would you wait New Year’s Day.
92% of people who make resolutions at the beginning of the year have little to no success, most of which completely drop off within the first two weeks. The truth is true change comes from within. Lasting change comes from realizing that you can no longer stay the way you are and where you are.
I want to encourage you to do something that most people won’t, I want you to get started today!
I’ve put together a few tips to help you formulate your thoughts so that you can take action
Become Crystal Clear About What You Want and Make a Decision
This is most important. You must become very clear about what it is that you want to have, do and be, after all it is your life. If you find yourself surrounded by people and circumstances that leave you feeling dizzy and confused and that don’t support your dreams, drop those elements from your life, and give yourself the space you need to create and enjoy the clarity you seek.
Here are a few question you can ask yourself
1. What makes you happy? What do you love doing?
2. What have been your most enjoyable achievements in life so far?
3. If you could do, be or have anything you wanted, what would you choose?
4. What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
Once you decide what you want to be and have clarity on that fact – that in itself is power. Remember that vague goals = vague results.
Visualize your Destination
In order you to get to where you want to be, you have to first see it in your mind. You have to visualize it, feel it, and believe it. Your words, and actions must be in alignment with your vision for your future. Think about what you want carefully, write it down. Question yourself and be able to articulate why it is imperative that you are able to live your vision. Why do you want it so bad? The more you visualize, the more focussed and the more desire you will develop for making your goals come to fruition.
Learning how to talk to yourself
It’s quite common to get up in the morning and go through your day doing all the things that need to be done without ever thinking about who you are. The great Dr. Maxwell Maltz wrote in his ground-breaking book Psycho-Cybernetics…a person will not outperform nor will they underperform for long who they conceive themselves to be. So the real question isn’t “who are you?” but rather “who do you want to be?”
Create an identity statement for yourself. This is a statement that you will say daily, a detailed description of the person you are becoming.
When negativity invades your peace of mind, repeat your identity statements “I am strong!” “I can do this,” “I am healthy,” You will notice how almost instantaneously your vibration changes from negative to positive.
I hope this helps you get in the right frame of mind. Follow these tips and you’ll thank me come January.
I love hearing from you. Be sure to leave your comments below
